Meet Kim

The Happiness Speaker

Kim Hodous is the kind of keynote speaker who makes audiences laugh, think, and walk out energized with practical tools they’re excited to use before they even leave the event.

Her presentations are engaging, interactive, and fun with audiences often on their feet, connecting with each other, and sometimes even joining Kim on stage. Participation is part of the experience, laughter is non-negotiable, and the energy stays high from start to finish.

But don’t let the fun fool you.

Kim’s work is grounded in research and real-world experience. She helps organizations create happier, healthier work cultures by teaching practical Habits of Happiness that improve communication, build resilience, and increase engagement, the things that actually move results.

With more than 20 years of speaking experience and over 1,000 presentations delivered, Kim has worked with associations, healthcare organizations, schools, and corporate teams nationwide. She holds the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP®) designation through the National Speakers Association, an honor earned by fewer than 12% of speakers worldwide.

Known for her warmth, high energy, and relatable storytelling, Kim creates an experience that leaves people feeling lighter, more hopeful, and more engaged. When Kim speaks, people leave feeling inspired and capable. And that’s when happier teams start creating better results.

Things That Make Kim Smile

I’ve had a plaque on my desk for over 20 years that reads, “If it’s not fun, I’m not interested.” I live by it.

My first time on stage was at age eight. My only line was “cock-a-doodle-doo.” I was a rooster. (Fortunately.)

My dad was a minister. My brother is a stand-up comedian. Somewhere along the way, I blended the two, because happiness is an inside job, and being funny helps the message land.

My favorite food in the world is Mint Milanos. I’m fairly certain I’ve eaten my body weight in them… which raises the late-night question: If I’d never had a Mint Milano… would I still be here?

If credentials are important to you, here are a few of mine:

A couple of cool honors I’m proud of:

If you want to know what makes me happy outside of having the best job in the world (I mean… I get to fly around the country and make people happy, that’s a pretty great gig), it’s hanging with these wonderful people in these amazing places.
